Enrique Perez & his partner Rob Carroll run an excellent free evening of salsa at Las iGuanas Bournemouth on the last Saturday of the month from 10:30pm until 2am but it doesn’t really get going until 11pm. Although the focus of the event is Cuban salsa there are plenty of ladies attending who can dance cross body though most of the men do lead Cuban style and many of the ladies prefer to dance their salsa in the Cuban way! No problem for me as I dance Puerto Rican Salsa Romantica (the best of cross body & cubana danced in a smooth sensual way) which means I can dance with anybody – even Enrique himself! 😉
Venue: Las iGuanas, BH2 leisure, Exeter Crescent, Bournemouth BH2 5DD – it’s not where Google says it is – just keep walking along Exeter Crescent and you’ll see it on the left after you have walked passed the entrance to BH2 and Ask Italian. If you’re driving there’s a car park half way down Exeter Crescent on the right. You can see more information about the venue on the Las iGuanas website.
Music: Enrique Perez is usually the DJ who always plays a mix which make you want to dance all night with an SBK ratio of 2:2:2!
Tonight started later than usual at 11pm with a guest DJ and then Enrique & Rob joined the celebrations at 1am. I had lots of dances with Katie and our first dance of 2019 just after midnight!
