Salsateca London and Ola Latina run a regular event called El Bembe every 2nd Saturday of the month at The Bottlescrue, 33 Foster Lane, London EC2V 6HD. Sometimes there’s one on the 4th Saturday too. There is parking in the streets nearby from 7pm onwards. The venue offers plenty of space for dancing in the main salsa room formed by 3 rectangular areas surrounding the dining tables down the middle of the room. Social dancing is from 9:15pm to 2am and there is a small room reserved for bachata which they call The Bachata Box and believe me it usually contains many sensual delights!
El Bembe at The Bottlescrue Monthly – plenty of parking after 7pm in nearby roads!

Philip Wake I had many excellent dances tonight – particularly with Rasa & Mary-Louise – but the most interesting dance of the night was with a Jamaican lady called Florin who had no idea how to dance salsa in a conventional way but just invented her own way of following my lead with natural movement and styling which just worked. No matter what I did she responded intuitively with a big smile on her face. She told me when I left that she had loved dancing with me and hoped to meet me again soon. I told her that it was amazing to dance with a lady with such an excellent sense of rhythm and sense of fun! 🙂 💘 🙂 💘🙂 💘
