Jennifer Benavidez presents events all over the world but this is a monthly event she runs every 2nd Sunday at Yates in Reading. She and her guest DJs always play an excellent mix of music! Classes for Salsa and Bachata begin at 7pm & 7:30 respectively and the party runs from 8pm to 11:30! Please see the facebook page: Salsa Bachata Social Club for more information. The dance floor is big enough for 100 dancers and is overseen by an upper level balcony where people can sit, rest & drink with staircase access to the dance floor in two places. This works well and as usual I spotted a few ladies to dance with who were watching from above, some of whom were spotting me! 😉
Venue: Yates at Friar Street, Reading RG1 1DB
Tickets: £8 – lessons are free!
Format: SBK 2:2:2

Philip Wake Salsa Bachata Social Club May Party at Yates Reading
After a slow start the party soon built up to a crescendo with excellent performances from the Danza & Oxford ladies. I had plenty of excellent dances with Natalia, Daniella, Winnie, Amber, Natasha, some of the performers and many others.

Philip Wake It was good to get back to dancing after having to take Saturday night off after my flat was burgled on Friday night while I was at Salsa Mish. The only reason I only lost my laptop was because the next door neighbour surprised them after they had disconnected the TV ready to take that too!
I’m taking my laptop with me from now on because unlike a TV which just costs money which can be insured against, it takes so much work to find a suitable new one and get it into shape ready for data restoration. I did that in 36 hours and lost not one iota of data – just a little sleep!
