For details about this 1st first Saturday of the month salsa event see the facebook page: Salsa – Fusion or group: SALSA – FUSION Club Nights . Sometimes there’s one on the 3rd Saturday too. There is rarely a shortage of good salseras to dance with and there’s always the Cuban room to cool down when you get overheated because it’s a smaller room with several enormous fans and Cubana can be less strenuous but it rarely happens that way for me! I always seem to attract ladies who like to go crazy on the dance floor . . . which I love of course . . . dancing without energy and passion is a poor thing indeed . . .

Philip Wake I had a good time tonight. It was muggy so I went to the Cuban room to cool off every three dances or so and managed to keep going until midnight when I had the best dance of the night with an elegant lady. She was in fact the third lady I had danced with tonight who’s sense of rhythm for a slow salsa tracks was perfect which meant is was a joy not to have keep the lady in time with the music at the same time as leading her for a beautiful dance.
Another lady asked me why she didn’t seem to be progressing as fast as she wanted to so I demonstrated the bus stop technique for weight transfer which is necessary to master before anybody can develop their salsa dancing to higher levels. It will be interesting to dance with her again next month to see if the 20 minutes practice I have suggested per day has made a difference. In fact it made a difference after just one salsa dance with her using the technique but it needs to become totally automatic so that she can concentrate only on following men who are not so good at leading. I gave her my card so that she could see my tips on how to salsa dance in this smooth and balanced fashion: www.wake.co.uk/my-salsa
