Pexava Dance run a Saturday Salsa Special at Conway Hall in Holborn London on a monthly basis. Philip Frost and Miguel Mayana run a monthly salsa event at The Bedford in Balham which is one of my favourite venues. The main room for salsa is ideal: wooden dance floor, capacity for 250 dancers, excellent sound system, air conditioning that works and  free parking nearby in Sainsbury for 250 cars! The Latin Collective boast that Scalalatina is The UKs Biggest Latin club night with 1200+ people at each event! It's an all night event held on a Sunday at Scala from 6pm to 6am. SUMMER TIME IN WINTER!

I turned the storage heater on full for my studio flat a couple of days ago and I woke up this morning to 25°C in the shade. I'm now working out how much extra it will cost me but even if it uses the maximum storage capacity of 17KW a night that's only 6KW more than I estimated. So if I keep it on full for December & January that will only cost me an extra 40p a day. That comes to £12 a month which will add only £24 for the year. TUMBLE DRYER STUFFED!

I recently noticed that my tumble dryer is taking more than an hour to dry clothes it used to dry in 40 minutes so I decided to check for fluff in the condenser as I haven't done it for a year. It's a messy job so I was putting it off. It was stuffed with fluff AND with a label from one of my pillow slips! Just taken the car in for an MOT. If it gets through and it lasts for another year the yearly cost will be:
£333 for purchase (£999 divided by 3 years)
£600 for insurance (3rd party fire & theft plus recovery)
£300 for MOT, service & tyres
£140 for tax

£1373 total yearly cost
£115 per month or £27 a week or 6p a mile (at 400 miles per week)

Every first Friday of the month there is an excellent salsa event at The View in Brighton run by Carlton Thomas. The social dancing is from 11pm to 2am which is my interest but the classes which are very professional start at 9pm. Event 2017-11-30: Salsa Bailando at Drift in Southsea on Thursdays!

Drift in Southsea is the venue Bailando every Thursday run by DALE Afro Latin Entertainment from 10:30pm to 3am. It starts earlier but hardly anybody gets there until 10:30pm and at 11pm they start charging £2 to go it. It has been good for the last few weeks because it was so crowded downstairs that people who wanted to dance salsa, bachata, meringue, kizomba etc have to go upstairs!

Event 2017-11-29: Salsa at Irish Club then Drift Bar on Wednesdays!

It's the Irish Club as usual tonight to break my salsa-fast of three nights rest after Wednesday at Irish in Portsmouth, Friday at Putney in London and Saturday at La Tasca in Bournemouth. Every week more and more talented salseras turn up at the Irish Club and sometimes it's almost as good as a London venue in terms of the number of quality of dances I have - as it was tonight! I didn't go to Drift because my salsa soul was fully satisfied!

Enrique Perez & his partner  Rob Carroll run an excellent free evening of salsa at La Tasca on Saturdays once a month from 10:30pm until 2am.

Incognito's Putney Salsa Club at  Dance Lab Ballroom Hall, 63 Upper Richmond Rd, London SW15 2RD - run by Jeff Tarpinian.

Superb professional dance floor for 200 dancers with an amazing sound system and air conditioning that works - normally used by Dance Lab for professional ballroom events.

Every Friday from 7pm to 11:45pm.

I always look forward to being part of the biggest and best monthly salsa dancing venue in the UK which is El Grande at Scala from 21:30 to 05:00 - 4 rooms for  salsa, cuban, bachata & kizomba - often attended by more than 1200 dancers!
