Salsa Mish hold a salsa event every Friday at Greenwood Park Community Centre, Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green, St Albans AL2 3HW. 2018-05-27: Scalalatina Spring Spectacular Bank Holiday Salsa Party with Katie!

The Latin Collective boast that Scalalatina is The UKs Biggest Latin club night with 1200+ people at each event! It's an all night event held on a Sunday at Scala from 6pm to 6am. There are workshops by the most famous teachers in the world until 9pm and then the party night from 9:30 until 6am including some world class performances on the stage in the main room from 1am. I always enjoy the experience of attending Incognito's Putney Salsa Club which is run by the elegant Jeff Tarpinian and has a very friendly atmosphere. There are usually 2 sessions of bachata or salsa lessons at 7:30 and 8:30pm and tonight was supposed to be a Cubana Special run by the amazing Kasia Rajca but she couldn't make it tonight so somebody else took over!

There's plenty of parking round the back in the Ashby Place car park.

I always enjoy the experience of attending Incognito's Putney Salsa Club which is run by the elegant Jeff Tarpinian and has a very friendly atmosphere. The venue has a superb professional dance floor for 200 dancers with an amazing sound system and air conditioning that works. Event 2018-04-01: Scalalatina Easter Extravaganza Bank Holiday Allnighter!

The Latin Collective boast that Scalalatina is The UKs Biggest Latin club night with 1200+ people at each event! It's an all night event held on a Sunday at Scala from 6pm to 6am. There are workshops by the most famous teachers in the world until 9pm and then the party night from 9:30 until 6am including three world class performances on the stage in the main room at 11:30 and another three at 00:30. Mambo City run a monthly party at ULU (University of London Union) from 20:30 to 02:00 - social dancing from 10pm onwards. See the facebook event Mambo City@ULU for more information. The main salsa room is spacious with a stage for the DJ and is always very busy. There is also a dedicated kizomba room in the reception room where the bar is with the usual student prices.

INDIGESTION MEANS EAT SOMETHING ELSE!

I was about 10 years old when I saw my Uncle Will holding his tummy after eating a curry.

I said: "What's wrong Uncle?"

"I always get indigestion when I eat a curry - it really hurts and I have to take a tablet!" he replied.

"So don't eat curry Uncle."

"But I like curry," said my Uncle "

"But curry doesn't like you Uncle!"

A few years later my Uncle Will died of cancer because the curries he ate gave him stomach ulcers and because he carried on eating curries they became cancerous!

Event 2018-02-15: Salsa Bailando at Drift in Southsea on Thursdays!

Drift in Southsea is the venue Bailando every Thursday run by DALE Afro Latin Entertainment from 10:30pm to 3am. It has been good for the last few weeks because there have been plenty of people attending Skye's bachata lessons upstairs and most stay for an hour or so to practice to bachata music. Around 11pm the salsa music begins.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Philip Frost and Miguel Mayana run a monthly salsa event at The Bedford in Balham which is one of my favourite venues. The main room for salsa is ideal: wooden dance floor, capacity for 250 dancers, excellent sound system, air conditioning that works and  free parking nearby for 250 cars! Fadi K runs events called ABCD from time to time - meaning AnyBody Can Dance - and the details of the latest one can be seen on the facebook event.
