For details of this OneDance Latin Festival weekender for bachata lovers organised by Laura Ann Williams & Alex Rasero held at the Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth from Friday 21st September to Sunday 23rd September see the OneDance Latin Festival Event Page. Though primarily for bachata lovers, mambo, cubana & kizomba lovers are welcome too. My interest was initially only in the party on Saturday night and dancing salsa which is my passion but in the event I enjoyed the Saturday night so much I decided to go to the Sunday night as well!
The Sunday party night started with one show at 9:30pm, followed by the Bachata Stars 2018 UK competition for the 5 competitors who won the regional contests. The winners will compete in the Bachata Stars 2018 World Final in December with all expenses paid and £500 to spend! After celebrations, photographs and clearing the seats, the social dancing started and was scheduled to finish at 2am. The DJ played a mixture of music instead of just bachata because tonight there were no separate rooms for mambo, salsa & kizomba as there were last night. I found this to be a better format for a good party night and found myself having far more bachata dances than I normally would. Maybe it was the quality of the bachateras which made the difference. I also had plenty of excellent salsa dances of course.
