The calorie density of this snack is a bit high at 40% but it’s so delicious I do have it from time to time. It’s my replacement for an ice cream cornet as I don’t eat milk products of any kind because they are not natural! People think milk is natural but there are two main reason’s why it is not:
- it’s intended as a food for for a calf to help it grow into a cow
- pasteurisation destroys the enzymes which make it possible for adult humans to digest it
The toast is the crunchy cornet and the over-ripe banana is the creamy ice cream – particularly if you keep the banana in the fridge for a while to cool it down! The more over-ripe the banana the more sweet and creamy it will taste. If the banana is not over-ripe simply microwave for 1 minute before using it for a hot banana toastie! If you sprinkle granulated sweetener over the toastie you will add a nice sweet crunchy taste to this delicious snack.
