INGREDIENTS
- Baked Beans one large can: 156kcal (250ml) Asda SP Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce 410g for 23p
- Bread 2 slices 66g: 176kcal (66ml) Asda Free From White Sliced Loaf 535g £1.50 = 19p
INSTRUCTIONS
- Open the can of baked beans, pour into a colander and drain off the sauce which is full of sugar.
- Place in container and microwave at 800W for 3 minutes.
- Place 2 slices of bread in the toaster and start.
- Serve as pictured.
The picture shows the snack on a 10 inch plate – enough for two ladies but only just enough for me! The Baked Beans must be drained because the tomato sauce contains too much sugar. The 410g contents add up to 330kcal with 15g sugar. When drained the weight reduces to 250g of Haricot beans which are 156kcal with only 1g natural sugar.
