The Ultra Low Emission Zone comes into effect on 8th April 2019 at which time if I were to drive all the way to The Bottlescrue as usual I would have to pay £12.50 for 9:30pm until midnight and another £12.50 for midnight until 2:30am.
As I have a free bus pass the natural alternative is to take the bus from near Scala which is just outside the zone. It’s only 1.7 miles so I could walk it but as my bus is free the plan is:
Scala to The Bottlescrue around 9pm
From Scala walk 2 mins
To Kings Cross Station Pentonville Road (Stop H)
Take #17 at 21:03, 21:18, 21:33 etc every 15 minutes
To St Pauls Cathedral (Stop SK)
Walk 4 minutes to The Bottlescrue
Return Journey until 00:40
From The Bottlescrue walk 4 mins
To St Pauls Churchyard (Stop SH)
Take #17 every 15 minutes until 12:54
To Kings Cross Station Pentonville Road (Stop H)
or Swinton Street (Stop N)
Walk 2 mins or 3 mins to Scala
Return journey after 00:40
From The Bottlescrue walk 12 mins
To Snow Hill (Stop HS)
Take N63 at 01:04, 01:18, 01:33, 01:48, 02:02, 2:24, 2:38
To Swinton Street (Stop N)
Walk 5 mins to Scala

At the beginning of April I’m going to set up a DD to pay the ULEZ just in case I wander into the zone by mistake!
