Sambroso Sambroso organised a massive Cuban extravaganza at Juju's to celebrate New Year and I decided to take my daughter Katrinah there because it was a reasonable price and the goddess of dance Yanet Fuentes - the real star of Cuban Fury - would be there. Enrique Perez & his partner Rob Carroll run an excellent free evening of salsa at Las iGuanas Bournemouth on the last Saturday of the month from 10:30pm until 2am but it doesn't really get going until 11pm. Salsa Mish hold a salsa event every Friday at Greenwood Park Community Centre, Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green, St Albans AL2 3HW. Parking is strictly limited and the locals are very sensitive to bad parking so if the gate is closed when you arrive you should park at Midway Surgery Car Park, 93 Watford Road, AL2 3JX from which there is a free minibus shuttle running every 15 minutes and you get a chance to win back your entry fee! 2018-09-02: Fulham Salsa Party every first Sunday at Kona Kai with Katie!
Incognito Dance Company launched a new salsa party night for the first Sunday of each month starting on 2nd September 2018. It's run by the elegant Jeff Tarpinian and has the friendly atmosphere you would expect of a public house venue. The venue has a long dance floor next to the bar for about 80 dancers with an good sound system and air conditioning that works very well at one end of the room which is where I did most of my dancing! 2018-05-27: Scalalatina Spring Spectacular Bank Holiday Salsa Party with Katie!
The Latin Collective boast that Scalalatina is The UKs Biggest Latin club night with 1200+ people at each event! It's an all night event held on a Sunday at Scala from 6pm to 6am. There are workshops by the most famous teachers in the world until 9pm and then the party night from 9:30 until 6am including some world class performances on the stage in the main room from 1am. I wouldn't miss going to this party night any more than I would miss going to the monthly El Grande one!

I always enjoy the experience of attending Incognito's Putney Salsa Club which is run by the elegant Jeff Tarpinian and has a very friendly atmosphere. The venue has a superb professional dance floor for 200 dancers with an amazing sound system and air conditioning that works. The dance floor is normally used by Dance Lab for professional ballroom events. Picked up Katie at Uxbridge and drove to East Barnet using the direct route which wasn't a good idea as there was a lot of traffic on the way but we still arrived in good time for the switch dance at the end of the lessons. Afterwards I drove Katie back to Uni.

Event 2017-09-23: Take Katie to Uni and Salsatricity at East Barnet!
The day went well getting Katie's stuff over to her new flat at the University of Hertfordshire with the able assistance of her mum & partner. It took a long time because there were so many students moving in on the same day and there were car holding areas to take care of the resulting long queues of cars packed with everything but the kitchen sink though it appeared that some had brought that too! Great venue with parking nearby, sprung dance floor, reasonably priced drinks at the bar and a friendly atmosphere. A variety of salsa, bachata, animations and a taste of kizomba are played! 🙂

Event 2016-11-02: Miss Southern Africa UK 2016
There is no parking at Tottenham Town Hall but the side roads are only controlled from 8am to 6:30pm so if you arrive before then you can sit in the car until 6:30pm. Arnold Road is a good place to park because there are always a line of spaces available at the beginning of the road until they begin to be used after 6:30pm if there's something on nearby.
